Copyright:
In Saudi Arabia, copyright protection is governed by the Saudi Copyright Law (last updated under Royal Decree No. M/41 dated 2 Rajab 1424H / August 30, 2003, and amended by subsequent decisions). Saudi Arabia is also a member of the Berne Convention and the WIPO Copyright Treaty. Administration and enforcement of copyright matters fall under the responsibility of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP).

Required documents:
- Notarized Power of Attorney: Executed by the applicant and Apostilled/legalized up to the Saudi Arabian Consulate.
- A copy of the work (digital format such as PDF, MP3, MP4, .docx, etc.)
- Declaration of authorship/ownership

Review Process:
- SAIP reviews the application for compliance and authenticity.
- They may request amendments or clarifications.
- Once approved, a certificate of copyright registration is issued electronically.
Validity & Duration:
- Literary, artistic, and software works: 50 years after the death of the author

Optional: Copyright is Automatic
According to international treaties and Saudi law, copyright protection exists automatically upon creation of the work. However, registration is highly recommended for legal enforcement and commercial use (licensing, claims, proof of ownership).
