Saudi Strengthening Global IP Partnerships: Saudi Arabia and Japan Deepen Cooperation

The Intellectual Property Protection Association (IPPA) recently hosted a high-level meeting at its Riyadh headquarters with representatives from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and several leading Japanese investment companies.

This meeting reflects ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Japan in intellectual property protection, building on previous engagements within the Gulf delegation of IP associations. The shared goal is to strengthen cooperation between GCC and Japanese organizations to foster a strong IP ecosystem.

Discussions focused on important legislative and regulatory efforts to fight counterfeit products and prevent forgery—highlighting both sides’ strong commitment to protecting intellectual property rights and promoting fair, transparent trade practices.

Such initiatives align with Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes innovation, investment protection, and the creation of a competitive knowledge-based economy.

This collaboration marks another step toward positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in IP protection, while opening new opportunities for international partnerships and innovation-driven growth.
