The IP Department in Qatar now accepts Industrial Design Applications
The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through its Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department, has officially announced the commencement of industrial design application filings — a long-awaited milestone in the implementation of Qatar’s Industrial Design Law.
As of October 2025, industrial design applications can now be submitted physically at the Ministry’s main building in Doha.
The Ministry also confirmed that application forms, required documents, and the adopted classification system are now available on the official Ministry of Commerce and Industry website.
This development marks a significant advancement in intellectual property protection in Qatar, providing a formal mechanism for industrial design registration — replacing the previous practice of publishing cautionary notices in local newspapers.
